U-Pick Berries and Beets

Of all things DIY and local-food related, berry picking is my favourite. A few hours in the sunshine collecting baskets of berries (while sampling a few of course) is just as much fun as it is  a good way to save money on the freshest produce you can buy.

My friend and I bicycled to Linley’s Farm just outside of Ancaster last week to make the most of strawberry season*. At the moment they have strawberry and beet picking, and raspberries are on their way. They also have a small market that tempted us to fill our paniers before trekking home.
