“Smart” homes and better healthcare

Saturday February 4th, 8-9 pm @ McMaster University Medical Centre, Room 1A1, Ewart Angus wing

Dr. Jamal Deen is giving a free public lecture about the new role of technology in health care next Saturday at McMaster Hospital. He argues that nanotechnology and the growing and increasingly affordable use of computers can work together to bring health care into the home. He says that this can help save public health care dollars by keeping people out of institutions when they don’t need to be there. Dr. Deen explains the potential for this technological at-home care  to help families and patients deal with chronic conditions, emergency response, and palliative care.
