The Future

Wednesday, October 19th @ 7:00pm, Empire

The AGH kicks off their fall I<3filmseries with the quirky but sentimental film The Future. The film is written, directed and starred by the multitalented Miranda July, for this alone it’s worth a view. The Future, looks into the life of a laid-back couple who live without much commitments until they adopt a sick stray cat. This decision radically changed their lives and altered the course of their future. Do not except any dramatic plot twist or crazy 3D graphics(thank goodness) but rather an unusual, simple movie.

Weakgenes @ 93.3 CFMU

Disregarding the ‘On-Air’ sign, a large group of children on a tour of CFMU made their way into the production room in the basement of the MSU. Most, jaded by the luxury of modern technology and the accessibility of downloadable music, they are completely unaware of the marvel that radio once was. “We’re working on this week’s show” I explain to the group. OUTDOOR Cinema: Avatar

Saturday, August 20th at dusk at City Hall, West side

We are pretty sure the Hollywood hit movie Avatar directed by James Cameron does not need an introduction. We have all probably seen it in the theater or in our homes. But who has seen it OUTDOORs on a warm summer’s eve? The movie begins at dusk in Hamilton City Hall plaza and admission is FREE. Just bring along lawn-chairs and/or blankets basically anything comfortable to sit on.

The Tree of Life

Wednesday, July 20 & Thursday, July 21 at 7:30 at the Westdale Theatre

If you have yet to see The Tree of Life, here is your chance, this is the last week it will be showing at the Westdale Theatre. The film chronicles the life of a middle age man living in Texas in the 1950s. Director, Terrence Malick uses a series of fragmented events to piece the story together. The film won Palme d’Or at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Despite its star studded cast, the film is anything but Hollywood and is definitely worth checking out.

BORN Ruffians at the Casbah!

Awesome SOLD OUT show at the Casbah. The openers Blackburn and First Rate People, great! The crowd, epic! The BORN Ruffians…well lets just say they know how to put on a show! But by far my favorite of the night was the crazy sweaty dance and singing.

Check out photos and a video below.
