Friday September 23rd to Saturday September 24th

If you’re a strong advocate of alternative transportation and wish to show how viable it can be, If the thought of cars pumping tar sands fuel makes you upset, if you’re sick of hearing nothing about preventing climate change from the media, come do something about it! 350 is a worldwide organization that holds Days of Action when 350 groups from many cities in almost every country in the world hold demonstrations to promote environmentalism and encourage government to take steps to prevent climate change. For the next Day of Action, Hamilton 350 has organized a cycle to Nanticoke refinery of Exxonmobil, tar sands exploiter and major financer of climate change deniers; and to the Ontario Power Generation coal-fired facility, the continent’s largest greenhouse gas source. It will be a 75km ride on flat roads for Friday September 23rd. After demonstrating and camping over night cyclists will ride the 75km back to the festivities in Gore Park. The Gore Park celebration will have musical entertainment and food. Gatherers will rally and march to the federal building to make their final statement on the need for action now against climate change!
