There is not enough that can be said about this event. All weekend long, we have the opportunity to peek into some of the rare gems of architectural history across the city, in all boroughs- for FREE. There is no excuse to not check out this event. Some buildings, like the mysterious Auchmar on Fennel and W 5th, are only open to the public for Doors Open. If you’ve ever been curious about a building, chances are its on the list, and now you can indulge your curiosity. For the most part, the sites are free to roam for self guided tours, but there are very knowledgeable volunteer staff at every location ready to answer your questions. It is being held over 2 days, so there really is no excuse. The list of attractions is extensive, and it grows every year. There’s something here for every interest, for every neighbourhood, for every age group, and you can go to as many or as few as you like, because its free, free, FREE!
